3nB and Hypertension/High Blood Pressure
What is Hypertension?

Blood pressure is measured by two indicators: Systolic pressure, when the heart is pumping, and diastolic pressure, when the heart is at rest. The reading is given as two numbers: systolic over diastolic. High blood pressure or hypertension is a disorder in which one or both of blood pressure readings are consistently higher than normal. The accepted classifications of hypertension are:

  • Pre-hypertension: Reading above 120/75 systolic/diastolic (while some physicians recommend 115/75)
  • Stage 1 Hypertension: Readings between 140 to 159 systolic and/or 90 to 99 diastolic
  • Stage 2 Hypertension: Reading above 160 systolic and 100 diastolic

What Causes Hypertension?

There are many causes of hypertension. Some are complex and a result of an underlying condition such as kidney problems, adrenal gland tumors, and certain defects in blood vessels that may be genetic. Causes that can be impacted through lifestyle changes include:

  • Excess body weight
  • Alcohol use
  • Lack of exercise
  • Elevated dietary salt levels
  • Levels of certain hormones
  • Some medications such as diet pills

No matter the cause, high blood pressure is associated with the amount of fluid in the blood and the flexibility of blood vessels (veins and arteries). Retention of sodium (salt) leads to increase fluid volume in the blood while hardening of the arteries and the hormones released during stress lead to loss of flexibility or constriction of blood flow.

How is Hypertension Treated?

In treating high blood pressure, doctors usually prescribe either: 1.) diuretics (water pills) to reduce the fluid volume, 2.) vasodilators to relax the arteries and reduce the resistance of blood flow, or 3.) beta-blockers to turn down the pumping action of the heart.

How Can 3nB Help?

  • Helps relax the walls of the arteries and veins thus reducing pressure
  • Has been shown to act as a diuretic reducing water retention
  • Does not upset the balance of electrolytes
  • Improves overall circulatory health
  • Has no known harmful side effects

How Does 3nB Work?

3nB appears to help lower blood pressure by both acting as a diuretic and a vasodilator, through impacting the production of prostaglandins as well as acting in a similar manner to drugs known as calcium channel blockers. 3nB has also been shown to lower blood cholesterol levels and reduce the formation of arterial plaque in experimental studies (animal and test tube studies). This effect may increase the elasticity of the blood vessels and also lead to lower blood pressure readings. 3nB also appears to promote some effects on areas of the brain that control vascular resistance.

Does 3nB Have Any Side Effects?

Often, the use of two or more drugs is necessary in order to successfully keep blood pressure at a safe level. Some of the more popular drugs, such as Lasix, Levatol and Zestril, have positive effects, but may also accompanied by harmful side-effects, such as drowsiness, diarrhea and headaches. On the other hand, hospital studies and extensive use by over 100,000 customers have not revealed any harmful side effects of 3nB.
